Cleo Integration Cloud Live Demo Webinar - Gateway

This Cleo Webinar, hosted by Jacob Olsen, outlines the transition from legacy on-premises data movement tools (like Lexicom) to the Cleo Integration Cloud (CIC) Gateway. The session focuses on maintaining business continuity while leveraging cloud-native advantages.

1. The CIC Gateway Architecture

Jacob describes the platform as a bridge between your internal infrastructure and external partners.

  • Protocol Support: Natively supports AS2, SFTP (client and server), FTP/S, and Email.

  • The CIC Agent: A lightweight local install that acts as a "seamless extension" of the cloud. It allows the platform to pick up and drop off files within your private network (Windows/Linux/iSeries) without complex double-hops or firewall configurations.

  • Cloud Agnostic: Includes native connectors for AWS S3, Azure Blob, and Google Cloud Storage (GCP).

2. The Migration Journey

The webinar breaks down the move to the cloud into a three-step "minimal lift" process:

  1. Cloud-to-Ground Setup: Installing the CIC Agent to establish secure, bidirectional communication between your internal systems and the Cleo Cloud.

  2. Connection Configuration: Setting up partner endpoints. Jacob notes that existing certificates, keys, and passwords can often be reused to minimize partner-side changes.

  3. Testing and Validation: A critical phase to ensure files land in the correct directories and metadata flows accurately before going live.

3. Key Differentiators: Lexicom vs. CIC Gateway

While both tools handle data movement, CIC Gateway introduces several modern operational improvements:

Feature

Lexicom (On-Prem)

CIC Gateway (Cloud)

Interface

Server-based / Desktop

100% Web-based (No plugins)

Visibility

Detailed technical logs

Operational Cockpit (Searchable history)

SFTP Server

Separate license required

Native feature included

Storage

Local file systems

Native Cloud Connectors (S3/Azure)

Maintenance

Manual patches/updates

Automated by Cleo

4. Operational Features & Self-Service

The live demo highlights the "Cockpit" interface, designed for both technical and business users:

  • Activity Pane: Real-time visibility into transactions. Users can search by filename, partner, or date and download payloads for troubleshooting.

  • Error Management: Detailed "Smoking Gun" logs that show exactly where a handshake or transfer failed.

  • Automation: A native scheduler supporting advanced Cron expressions for precise file movement.

  • Security: Support for SAML, SSO, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to integrate with tools like Okta or Azure AD.

Compliance Note: CIC Gateway is heavily audited, maintaining SOC 1, 2, & 3 and ISO 27001 certifications to meet strict enterprise security standards.
