Cleo Completes Drummond Group 1Q 2020 AS3 Certification
ROCKFORD, Illinois – April 7, 2020 – Cleo, the global leader in ecosystem integration solutions, today announced it has successfully completed its Drummond Group Applicability Statement 3 (AS3) certification during first quarter (1Q) 2020 test events. This year’s event, the latest round of Drummond’s interoperability certification tests, marks the 16th straight year Cleo has successfully completed this particular testing.
AS3 is the IEFT (Internet Engineering Task Force) messaging specification standard governing how applications communicate EDI data, or other information such as XML documents, securely over the Internet using the FTP protocol. The benefits of using AS3 include security (e.g., end-to-end data encryption, SSL encryption and hashing); non-repudiation (e.g., legally proving transaction details; obtaining confirmation and MDNs (Message Disposition Notifications); and flexibility (e.g., large file transfer capabilities; moving any data type, including non-EDI payloads).
Drummond Group’s AS3 Interoperability Certification comprises full matrix interoperability testing for the IETF AS3 (RFC 4823) FTP-based transport protocol standard. Multiple participating software vendors sign up to participate in a round of Drummond interoperability testing using the Drummond InSitu™ test management platform. All participating AS3 applications test against each other (all send/receive) to demonstrate interoperability and earn certification as a group. AS3 Interoperability certification is offered once per year, January through March.
