What is an EDI 840?
The EDI 840 Request for Quotation provides potential buyers with the ability to solicit price, delivery schedule, and other items from potential sellers of goods and services.

 

How to use an EDI 840?
An EDI 840 Request for Quotation is used to help buyers to initiate a quotation request for the price, schedule of delivery, and any other items to sellers of specific goods and services. After the 840 Request for Quotation is received by the seller, a 997 Functional Acknowledgment is sent back from the receiver indicating that the 840 Request For Quotation was successfully received.
