Cleo CEO Says Business Value Creation Now Occurs ‘At the Edge’
Complete and Flexible B2B Integration, B2B APIs Highlight Cleo Connect Customer Event
CHICAGO — Cleo, the global leader in multi-enterprise information integration solutions, hosted nearly 100 representatives from more than 50 companies at its annual Cleo Connect customer event Sept. 11-13 at Eaglewood Resort in Itasca, Illinois.
The three-day summit brought together Cleo executives, advisers, customers, and partners who are shaping how companies strategically deploy integration technology to create value through emerging digital transformation solutions, evolving customer and industry requirements, and modern cloud initiatives.
In his keynote address, Cleo CEO Mahesh Rajasekharan, Ph.D., emphasized how companies undergoing digital transformation have a great opportunity to create value “at the edges” of their businesses.
“This is where business ecosystems are formed, where business actually happens now,” Rajasekharan said. “In the past, applications like ERP systems were what created value. But today, value is created – or destroyed – at that point where you share information and execute transactions with your business partners.”
Gartner Research Director Mark O’Neill shared his latest research detailing the importance of APIs in enabling new and advanced B2B interactions, and representatives from Tracelink, Bankers’ Bank, TaylorMade, Reddy Ice, and Octapharma comprised a customer panel that addressed current data challenges and how modern, flexible B2B integration solutions can solve them.
Customers also learned about Cleo’s solutions roadmap as well as market trends that shape the technology landscape.
“The presentations and informational sessions at Cleo Connect were tremendous resources and offered so much insight into the business logic behind its solutions,” said Ana Schleicher, systems analyst at LSPediA, a leading provider of enterprise supply chain software and services in the pharmaceutical industry. “It’s not too often that a vendor invests so much time and attention into its customer relationships, and it feels like you have a true business partner with Cleo.”
“The level of expertise and engagement at every level – from the executive team to the account managers – during Cleo Connect was inspiring,” said Jen Niethammer, EDI and compliance coordinator for TaylorMade who also spoke on the Cleo Connect customer panel. “It’s reassuring to know just how much Cleo cares about the success of TaylorMade’s business and its increasingly innovative role in the global golf industry.”

“Cleo continues to innovate to ensure our B2B offerings empower each customer to achieve desired outcomes and create value in new ways,” Rajasekharan added. “We understand that the world’s premier companies choose Cleo not just for our toolsets but for the end results they deliver, and the customer collaboration and feedback are truly invaluable in helping us deliver on those results.”
