Cleo Releases Latest Version of VersaLex 4.2, Powering LexiCom & VLTrader
Cleo adds powerful features to core technology platform delivering enhanced security, web services, advanced certificate management and agile programming tools.
ROCKFORD, IL (Dec. 10, 2009) - Cleo announces the latest release of its VersaLex technology platform. VersaLex powers both VLTrader, a powerful and scalable secure managed file transfer server, and LexiCom, a full-featured secure file transfer client. Release 4.2 enhancements deliver even greater protection for data with encryption at rest and added perimeter security features. Also in this release are flexible tools that save time and ensure up-time including scheduled certificate exchange and expanded web portal functionality plus, web service integration/administration and more flexible programming options.
Enhanced Security . Encryption at rest allows files to remain encrypted on the file system or data base helping clients comply with security policies when data is stored. Both inbound and outbound files can be automatically encrypted or decrypted according to preferences. Files can now be securely transferred over otherwise insecure channels, both inside and outside of the enterprise. With this new release, Cleo’s core technology can work in tandem with other applications by ensuring files remain encrypted throughout the entire workflow processes as well.
Added perimeter security with VLProxy eliminates the need for any open inbound ports through the internal firewall. This helps eliminate the chance of internet-based attacks into your internal network.
Web Services Integration. One of the most significant enhancements – web services – is now incorporated into VLTrader’s robust feature set. Clients can access their data from anywhere, anytime and integrate easily with web services-enabled applications. This capability allows enterprises to leverage existing technology and back-end systems and at the same time link with front-end or external applications. Clients take full advantage of the flexibility of an open service oriented architecture (SOA) to scale quickly and cost efficiently.
VLTrader’s web portal can now be seamlessly integrated within an enterprise’s SOA. With this release VLTrader’s web portal can be easily embedded within existing web sites and web portals. Alternatively, other web sites and web portals may also be embedded within the VLTrader web portal. Additionally, customer specific graphics can be incorporated within the web portal to customize client brand identity.
Automated Certificate Exchange. Certificate management is a critical element of securing file transfers and doing business with external trading partners and organizations. Knowing who you are doing business with and updating certificates is like validating “identities” and ensures files are sent only to those entities you know, trust and want to do business with. With both VLTrader and LexiCom, clients can now more easily manage a large number of certificates and schedule certificates to be activated at specific times and dates and allow active overlapping during the exchange so there is no downtime due to expired certificates. This enhances VLTrader’s already robust certificate management capabilities.
Agile Programming . With local file zip compression, enhanced macro variables, and searchable subfolders to send files, programmers gain flexible tools to help them accomplish more…faster.
