VersaLex Earns Drummond Certification for AS2 Interoperability

Cleo LexiCom and VLTrader now adhere to latest AS2 Messaging specifications

Rockford, IL— Cleo® Communications, today announced that VersaLex™ v4.0 achieved the latest Drummond Certification™ for Global AS2 interoperability. VersaLex is Cleo’s secure Internet communications technology that powers Cleo’s popular client-based software, LexiCom™, as well as Cleo’s managed file transfer server, VersaLex Trader (VLTrader™). This marks Cleo’s 13th consecutive certification for AS2 interoperability.

VersaLex successfully completed several rounds of rigorous testing to verify certificate and data exchange, security, compression, and receipt capabilities. Cleo was among fourteen companies to participate in the testing session. As with the previous two rounds of testing, Cleo again completed all optional test profiles: Multiple Attachment, File Name Preservation, File Name Preservation with MDN Notifications, Certificate Exchange Messaging, and AS2 Reliability. Cleo Communications was one of only two companies that successfully completed all of the optional tests.

About the Optional Tests

  • The Multiple Attachments Profile is used in many verticals, but particularly in the Petroleum Industry, to handle the exchange of more than one attachment/payload in a single AS2 message exchange.
  • The Filename Preservation Profile tests the ability to retain the filename in AS2 message exchanges from the originating to receiving side. This is critical for the Financial Services Industry, though of great value in many other industries.
  • The Filename Preservation Profile with MDN Notifications adds MDN specific responses for error conditions when writing payloads.
  • The Certificate Exchange Messaging Profile test is used primarily by the Retail and Consumer Product Goods Industry but has great value in automating the process of certificate exchanges prior to expiration for all trading relationships.
  • Lastly, the AS2 Reliability Profile is utilized to ensure that a message is received only once in transmission to help guarantee that a message is not processed in duplicate.
